Petit Vour February 2015 Subscription Box Detail Card

The box comes with a card detailing all of the included products, as well as tips on how to use them.

Balanced Guru Scrub Me Nice and Gritty Body Scrub

Product: Balanced Guru Scrub Me Nice and Gritty Body Scrub (1 oz)
Retail Value: $2.87

I have a love-and-hate relationship with body scrubs. While I love a good scrub and exfoliating my skin, I hate the mess it makes in the shower. For this reason, I actually like receiving body scrubs in subscription boxes because a sample size is usually enough.

Ellovi Mint Chocolate Body Butter

Product: Ellovi Mint Chocolate Body Butter (0.5 oz)
Retail Value: $3.71

This body butter smells delicious. It reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream, and I want to eat it! In fact, I probably could because according to Ellovi’s site "Every Ellovi product is made with six wildly harvested ingredients so pure you can eat them." In addition, Ellovi's butter does not contain water, which is normally the number one ingredient in most commercial brands. There's also no preservatives, so I am really loving this body butter. Since the ingredients are more concentrated, this sample can last for a while. Sadly, it doesn't look like their site currently sell this scent. The butter is only available in 'Original' and Vanilla. Hopefully they will start carrying the Mint Chocolate version.

My Daughter Fragrances Always Loved

Product: My Daughter Fragrances Always Loved (1 ml)
Retail Value: $2.50

I used to run a perfume blog during my past life, so I have mixed feelings about receiving perfume samples. The main issue with including them in subscription boxes is that fragrance is a very personal thing. Perfume interacts with everyone's body differently, and the same scent can smell different when applied to different people. With that said, My Daughter Fragrances' Always Loved is composed of Bulgarian rose oil, Turkish rose absolute, Bitter cocoa absolute, Patchouli, Vetiver and Cedar. You can smell the rose top notes as soon as the bottle opens. It's a rich scent but not overpowering. I like that it's phthalate and paraben free as I am trying to use less products with chemical names I can't pronounce in them.

Lily Lolo New Black Vegan Mascara

Product: Lily Lolo New Black Vegan Mascara
Retail Value: $19.50 (Full Size)

Mascara is probably one of the most frequently used makeup product for me. According to Lily Lolo's site, this is an organic natural vegan mascara that volumizes and lengthens lashes. That’s one awesome combination.

ProductsRetail Value
Balanced Guru Scrub Me Nice and Gritty Body Scrub (1 oz) $2.87
Ellovi Mint Chocolate Body Butter (0.5 oz) $3.71
My Daughter Fragrances Always Loved (1 ml) $2.50
Lily Lolo New Black Vegan Mascara (Full Size) $19.50
Total $28.58

Final Thoughts: Petit Vour did a great job curating this box based on the Valentine's Day theme. A body scrub to exfoliate, a yummy body butter to moisturize, a full sized mascara for makeup, and then a spritz of fragrance to put the finishing touches. As always, Petit Vour is focused on quality over quantity, and I like the thoughtfulness that's put into their boxes every month. Although I prefer products other than perfume samples, I'm liking the Always Loved scent. I will use every single item in the February box, so it's a win!
