GLOSSYBOX Subscription Box Review - April 2015

April 2015 Glossybox Cover

GLOSSYBOX has one of the best packaging in the subscription box industry. For April, they created a limited edition box with artwork of a girl applying makeup. There are a couple of color variations as well. Once these boxes run out, subscribers will receive the standard pink box with the same products.

April 2015 Glossybox Detail Card

The box comes with a card detailing all of the products and tips on how to use them.

April 2015 Glossybox tf Cosmetic Bag

Product: GLOSSYBOX and t/f Lips - Anywhere - Pink Cosmetic Bag
Retail Value: $30.00 (Estimated)

This is a co-branded cosmetic bag from t/f and GLOSSYBOX featuring t/f's "Lips - Anywhere" design. It has the exact same design and specs as the Lips - Anywhere - Pink Crossbody Bag without the chain handle. Therefore, the value is an estimate. Inside the bag is a mystery gift card that can be redeemed on the t/f website. Please note that this cosmetic bag is not listed on the detail card.

April 2015 Glossybox Marrakesh Endz Split End Mender & Preventer

Product: Marrakesh Endz Split End Mender & Preventer
Retail Value: $5.99 (Full Size)

Although I don't have any split ends, this product is also supposed to help prevent them. The texture is like lotion. I've used it twice so far, but it will take some time to see results. It has a pleasant smell and went on very easily. No residue or grease. The one included in the box is a full-size 1 ounce tube, it is also available in a 4 oz dispenser.

April 2015 Glossybox Estée Lauder Aerin Waterlily Sun Eau de Parfum

Product: Estée Lauder Aerin Waterlily Sun Eau de Parfum (0.3 oz)
Retail Value: $15.00

The scent of this perfume is meant to capture the feeling of sunlight reflecting on water. It's a light, fresh, sweet floral fragrance. Also, the flower pattern on the box and container definitely gives the feeling of spring. I'm glad GLOSSYBOX included a mini version instead of a sample tube of the perfume.

April 2015 Glossybox Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Stained Gloss

Product: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Stained Gloss
Retail Value: $18.00 (Full Size)

The card states that colors will vary by box. The one I received is called Jealous, which is red-orange shellac. In person, it really is literally...red. It has a sweet minty scent, sort of like mint candy. It's a transparent gloss, but the color is pretty pigmented. It can also be used as a cheek stain but this shade is way too red for me.

April 2015 Glossybox Estée Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum

Product: Estée Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum (0.24 oz)
Retail Value: $15.00

I haven't had to use a dark spot correcting serum before, but I've seen it from other brands. I can't speak to the effectiveness of this Estée Lauder version. It's supposed to reduce the look of dark spots, discolorations, blotchiness and redness in about four weeks if you apply the serum AM/PM.

April 2015 Glossybox Julep Gel Eye Glider

Product: Julep Gel Eye Glider
Retail Value: $16.00 (Full Size)

Julep's gel eye glider is formulated without paraben and is cruelty-free. This is another item with color variation. The one I received is in Smoky Plum. I normally like black eyeliners, but this shade of purple is dark enough for me to use. It applies smoothly and has good pigment.

ProductsRetail Value
GLOSSYBOX and t/f Lips - Anywhere - Pink Cosmetic Bag $30.00
Marrakesh Endz Split End Mender & Preventer (Full Size) $5.99
Estée Lauder Aerin Waterlily Sun Eau de Parfum (0.3 oz) $15.00
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Stained Gloss (Full Size) $18.00
Estée Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum (0.24 oz) $15.00
Julep Gel Eye Glider (Full Size) $16.00
Total $99.99

Final Thoughts: I really like the GLOSSYBOX and t/f co-branded cosmetic bag, and I'm not sure why it's not listed on the detail card. Perhaps it's a bonus item that comes with the limited print box? There's another Julep product included in this month's box (February's box had a Julep nail polish). I find it interesting since Julep has their own subscription, and people may be subscribed to both. Overall, there's a good mixture of items that I enjoy and the value is great. Also, I'm loving the box print.
