GLOSSYBOX is a women's beauty subscription box featuring five (sometimes six) products from high quality brands. For $21 a month, the total retail value is great. There are definitely hit or miss items for me in each box, but I have the option of keeping or gifting them since they are usually well packaged and decent sizes.

Boxometry GLOSSYBOX May 2015 Review Teeez Trend Cosmetics Head Over Heels Nail Lacquer

Product: Teeez Trend Cosmetics Head Over Heels Nail Lacquer
Retail Value: $14.00 (Full Size)

Teeez Trend Cosmetics is a Dutch beauty brand. I've never seen this brand before, so I had to do a little research. The nail polish box design is colorful, flowery, and a bit gaudy. However, I also think it's kind of fun. The color I received is Cotton Candy, which can be best described as coral. I haven't had a chance to try it on since I am testing a nail polish from another box (there's no shortage of nail polishes from subscriptions). However, a couple of reviews confirmed that this nail polish does stay on well for three days like the box advertises. However, it doesn't seem to be available on any US internet retailers.

Boxometry GLOSSYBOX May 2015 Review Doucce Mineral Matt Lipstick

Product: Doucce Mineral Matt Lipstick
Retail Value: $20.00 (Full Size)

Doucce Cosmetics is another brand I am not too familiar with. Apparently, it is based in New York. This lipstick is soft to the touch, has a matte finish, and infused with SPF 10 and vitamin E. The color I received is Cherry Blossom 907. I didn't know the name of the color until I looked it up on Doucce's site. The lipstick just says 907. I wouldn't have guessed Cherry Blossom since it looks more like a light brownish color. The lipstick does feel moisturizing, somewhat like a lip balm. However, it smells like a regular lipstick.

Boxometry GLOSSYBOX May 2015 Review Clearista Retexturizing Gel

Product: GLAMGLOW Powermud DualCleanse Treatment (0.5 oz)
Retail Value: $20.29

The GLAMGLOW brand is really popular lately and is all the rage on Sephora.com reviews. According to the card, this brand was originally created for the co-founders' actor friends who are looking for an instant camera-ready look. The Powermud is a mud-to-oil deep cleansing treatment that helps remove build-up of dirt, oil, and makeup. I had an accident when I was trying out the cleanser. I squeezed the tube lightly and somehow most of the contents came squirting out. Luckily I was able to save some and use it on my face. My skin didn't feel particularly soft afterward, but it did look very clean and appeared brighter. Unfortunately, I only have enough for one more treatment.

Product: Clearista Retexturizing Gel (0.5 oz)
Retail Value: $10.00

The Clearista Retexturizing Gel is a facial exfoliant. It is formulated without parabens, synthetic dyes, or fragrances. This exfoliator not only smooths skin and refine pores, it can also reduce pigmentation and other imperfections such as rough skin bumps or dry patches. Although I don't have any of those issues, it's nice to know the additional benefits. However, I am unable to confirm how effective it is. If you've tried it on any problems areas, let us know how it worked out.

Boxometry GLOSSYBOX May 2015 Review Sebastian Professional Stylbrid 9

Product: Sebastian Professional Stylbrid 9 (1.55 oz)
Retail Value: $4.99

I don't use hairsprays at all, but I've been getting quite a few from beauty subscription boxes lately. Coincidentally, my mom needed to restock, and now she has a stash of hairsprays from a variety of brands thanks to my box obsession.

In addition to heat protection and adding volume and texture, this hairspray also offers curl definition and UV protection. I think my mom would love all of the added benefits.

ProductsRetail Value
Teeez Trend Cosmetics Head Over Heels Nail Lacquer (Full Size) $14.00
Doucce Mineral Matt Lipstick (Full Size) $20.00
GLAMGLOW Powermud DualCleanse Treatment (0.5 oz) $20.29
Clearista Retexturizing Gel (0.5 oz) $10.00
Sebastian Professional Stylbrid 9 (1.55 oz) $4.99
Total $69.28

Final Thoughts: Although the retail value is lower than some of the past boxes, I enjoyed most of the products from this month's box. I'm sad that most of my GlamGlow cleanser went to waste. However, there are still plenty of other products to use. I'm actually a little surprised that there are two facial cleanser/exfoliating washes. I would've preferred more variety, but both of these brands (GlamGlow and Clearista) have great reviews, so at least I got to try them.
