Birchbox Subscription Box Review & Coupon - July 2015

Boxometry Birchbox July 2015 Review - Box

The theme of the July Birchbox is "go bold." If you are not familiar, Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box. They usually send five beauty samples according to your profile. Sometimes they include an extra item as a bonus. Beauty samples include anything from skincare, haircare, and bodycare to perfumes and accessories (such as hair ties). Birchbox is one of the very first beauty sample subscription boxes.

Boxometry Birchbox July 2015 Review - Jouer Daily Clarifying Treatment and Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume

Product: Jouer Daily Clarifying Treatment Oil (0.1 fl oz)
Retail Value: $4.80

This bottle is super small, so I was amazed that the lid was a dropper. You only need 1-2 drops after cleansing, so this little vial can actually last a couple of uses! I've been breaking out lately (probably from stress), so I applied this oil today. However, it will probably take a few treatments to see results.

Product: Juliette Has a Gun - Not a Perfume (0.05 oz)
Retail Value: $2.65

Like the description says, this perfume is a "minimalist scent." It only has a single note: Cetalox. Since there aren't any other fragrances, the top note literally smells like alcohol. This is probably the most interesting perfume I've encountered lately. I like perfumes that are not too overpowering, but I am not a fan of this scent.

Boxometry Birchbox July 2015 Review - Rusk Hair Care Heatshift Re-Styling Cream

Product: Rusk Hair Care Heatshift Re-Styling Cream (1 oz)
Retail Value: $5.29

While I don't really need any hair products, I can use this Heatshift Re-styling cream since I blow dry my hair. I tried it out today, but didn't see any significant changes.

Boxometry Birchbox July 2015 Review - Stila Look at Me Liquid Lipstick Trio

Product: Stila Look at Me Liquid Lipstick Trio (Bella)
Retail Value: $5.00

What radioactive neon pink nonsense is this, Birchbox? Even Barbies don't wear this color.

Boxometry Birchbox July 2015 Review - Supergoop! Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30

Product: Supergoop! Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30 (10 ml)
Retail Value: $8.40

I've been breaking out a little lately, so I am going to wait until later to try this serum just in case it aggregates it. I do want to mention that this sunscreen is formulated without parabens, synthetic dyes, and bad chemicals, which is always a plus.

ProductsRetail Value
Jouer Daily Clarifying Treatment Oil (0.1 fl oz) $4.80
Juliette Has a Gun - Not a Perfume (0.05 oz) $2.65
Rusk Hair Care Heatshift Re-Styling Cream (1 oz) $5.29
Stila Look at Me Liquid Lipstick Trio (Bella) $5.00
Supergoop! Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30 (10 ml) $8.40
Total $26.14

Final Thoughts: I can't get over the ridiculous neon pink colored liquid lipstick from Stila. As much as I want to like Birchbox, I don't feel like they actually send products according to my preferences. The value is not bad for $10 a month, but Ipsy have been doing a much better job at sending products I enjoy and bringing even better value.
