Love With Food Tasting Box Subscription Review & Coupon - June 2015

Love With Food is a monthly healthy snack subscription box. There are several options available: tasting box, deluxe box (bigger size), or gluten-free box. In addition, they also offer an office box with enough snacks for 1-15, 16-30, or 31-50 employees. Love With Food has been around for a while, and may be the very first (or one of the first) snack subscription box at $10 per month price point. If you are not familiar with them, Love With Food is like the Birchbox or Ipsy of the snack category.

The June 2015 theme is "Saturday in the Park," which features snacks good for picnics or outdoors. The box I am reviewing is the tasting box, which features 8+ sample snacks. The deluxe box is similar except you get double the amount.

Boxometry Love With Food Tasting Box Review - Detail Card

The box comes with a fold out card describing each snack, and whether they are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO or a combination of them.

Boxometry Love With Food Tasting Box Review - KUTOA Bar and Emilys Northwest Trail Mix

Product: KUTOA Snack Bar, Chocolate Banana
Retail Value: $2.08 (Full Size)

Kutoa means "to give" in Swahili. For every bar purchased (including the one from this box), they give a nutrition pack to a child in need. This snack bar is gluten-free, vegan, and does not contain preservatives. It tastes like an energy protein bar. However, I love companies that give back.

This is actually the second time I received the KUTOA Snack Bar. The other one I got was a blueberry flavored one from another subscription box. Also, the accompanying detail card includes a description about Chocolate Maca Bar by Amrita Health (which I did not get). I think it's a mis-print since my Love With Food account shows the KUTOA bar. Not sure if anyone else had this problem?

Product: Northwest Trail Mix by Emily's (0.85 oz)
Retail Value: $0.85

As strange as this may sound, but I lost this trail mix. I finished about 90% of the snacks in the box, and decided I would eat this while I write the review. My husband joked that our dog, Mochi, must have gotten to it. Since I can't try it, here's the list of ingredients in case you are wondering: Roasted Cashews (cashews, peanut oil, salt), Roasted Almonds (almonds, peanut oil, salt), Dried Cranberries (cranberries, sugar, sunflower oil), Dried Apples (apples, sugar, cinnamon). The trail mix is also vegan and gluten-free.

Boxometry Love With Food Tasting Box Review - Sunrype Fruit Strips and Balis Best Ice Tea Candy

Product: Fruit Strips by Sunrype (0.5 oz)
Retail Value: $0.33

This reminds me of Fruit Roll-Ups but with no added sugar and natural ingredients. It tastes great, and is vegan and gluten-free.

Product: Classic Ice Tea Candy by Bali's Best (x3 pieces)
Retail Value: $0.15

These hard candies taste exactly like sweet iced tea. It's not too sweet either, so I enjoyed them.

Boxometry Love With Food Tasting Box Review - Crazy Hot Popchips by Popchips

Product: Crazy Hot Popchips by Popchips (1 oz)
Retail Value: $1.50

I love hot and spicy food, so these Crazy Hot Popchips are awesome. I used to be and still am addicted to Flamin' Hot Cheetos, but this is probably a healthier alternative. Also, the popchips are gluten-free.

Boxometry Love With Food Tasting Box Review - Everything Bar by Sheffa

Product: Everything Savory Bar by Sheffa (0.64 oz)
Retail Value: $0.70

This is a savory snack bar made with whole grains seasoned with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, toasted onion and roasted garlic. While I love the idea of this bar, I am not sure it translates well as a snack. The flavor is okay (not great, but not terrible either), but the main issue is that it's pretty dry. It definitely "feels" healthy, and is vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO.

Boxometry Love With Food Tasting Box Review - Rosemary Croccantini by La Panzella

Product: Rosemary Croccantini by La Panzella (0.58 oz)
Retail Value: $0.83

These crackers are lightly salted with a hint of rosemary. There's a good crunch to them. You can eat it by itself or with your favorite spread.

Boxometry Love With Food Tasting Box Review - Brownie Brittle by Shiela G's

Product: Brownie Brittle by Shiela G's (1 oz)
Retail Value: $0.80

I received the Chocolate Chip Brownie Brittle and they are really good. It tastes like brownie but is crunchy like chips. I like that it's not overly sweet.

Boxometry Love With Food Tasting Box Review - Coupons

Product: Coupons

Last but not least, Love With Food included some snack coupons that can be redeemed in stores or online.

Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this month's snacks because there's a good variety of flavors from slightly seasoned, to sweet, to savory and to spicy. Although the retail value is close to the monthly price, what I like the most is their curation. The box also includes a coupon to redeem a free box of popsicles, which would in fact make up the price difference. Overall, the tasting box is perfect me for because I like to nibble on different snacks rather than eating a lot of the same things. How did you like your Love With Food box?
