Boxometry Orange Glad July 2015 Review - Detail Booklet

The box comes with a booklet detailing each dessert/sweet and a profile on the bakery that made it.

Boxometry Orange Glad July 2015 Review - Ice Cream Shortbread (McTavish Shortbread)

Product: Ice Cream Shortbread (McTavish Shortbread)
Retail Value: $1.32

This ice cream shortbread is buttery with a good balance of sweetness. The flavor reminds me of Danish Butter Cookies, for those of you who've had these.

Boxometry Orange Glad July 2015 Review - Brown Sugar Blondie (Greyston Bakery)

Product: Brown Sugar Blondie (Greyston Bakery)
Retail Value: $3.50

I love chocolate chip, and I love brownies. This would have been the perfect combination except I find it a bit too sweet. However, the Greyston Bakery has a great Open Hiring Policy. They provide a job and training to anyone who walks through their door, no questions asked. Greyston Bakery also offers child care, community gardens and workforce development to address poverty. I definitely support this company's initiative!

Boxometry Orange Glad July 2015 Review - Raspberry Jam Shortbread (A Couple of Squares)

Product: Raspberry Jam Shortbread (A Couple of Squares)
Retail Value: $0.83

The Raspberry Jam Shortbread is delicious. It's a good balance of sweet and buttery flavor. Too bad there was only one piece!

Boxometry Orange Glad July 2015 Review - Vagabond Biscotti (Darling Gourmet Goodies)

Product: Vagabond Biscotti (Darling Gourmet Goodies)
Retail Value: $4.75

I love this biscotti. It has white chocolate chunks with toasted hazelnuts, all in a vanilla cookie. It's crunchy but not too hard. Also, the Vagabond Biscotti is made with organic flour. They are sold in bags of 4 pieces.

Boxometry Orange Glad July 2015 Review - Bananas Foster with Dark Rum Carameled Popcorn (The Art of Caramel)

Product: Bananas Foster with Dark Rum Carameled Popcorn (The Art of Caramel)
Retail Value: $4.57

I'm not a fan of desserts with banana flavoring because they tend to taste artificial. Actual banana pieces are fine. I really enjoyed this popcorn with the dark rum caramel, but I don't like the banana portion.

ProductsRetail Value
Ice Cream Shortbread (McTavish Shortbread) $1.32
Brown Sugar Blondie (Greyston Bakery) $3.50
Raspberry Jam Shortbread (A Couple of Squares) $0.83
Vagabond Biscotti (Darling Gourmet Goodies) $4.75
Bananas Foster with Dark Rum Carameled Popcorn (The Art of Caramel) $4.57
Total $14.97

Final Thoughts: The total value of this box is almost exactly the cost of the box (not including shipping). I enjoyed most of the sweets in this box, and think they did a good job including a variety of items. However, if you are looking for high value, then this may not be for you. In my opinion, Orange Glad is more focused on curation and bringing a great experience.
