Boxycharm Subscription Box Review - March 2015

The March Boxycharm box is entitled "Lucky Charm" for St. Patrick's Day. They revealed three of the five products through social media prior to shipment, so I already knew some of the items I would be receiving. Without further ado, let's review this month's box.

The box comes with a card detailing all of the included items.

Product: Oscar Blandi Hair Products - Pronto Dry Heat Protect Spray (1.3 oz)
Retail Value: $11.00

The card listed this item simply as Oscar Blandi Hair Products, which means Boxycharm probably sent different hair styling products from this brand. The one I received is the Pronto Dry Heat Protect Spray. I use a heated ceramic iron to straighten my hair, so this spray is pretty handy with heat protection up to 450°F.

Product: OFRA Eyeliner in Black

The product is listed as OFRA Eyeliner without color specification, so this is another item with different variations. I don't normally use eyeliner pencils, but I'm glad I received one in black since I can give it to my mom who actually prefers pencils. I do want to mention that this eyeliner pencil has very good pigmentation.

Product: LVX Nail Lacquer

LVX Nail Lacquers are 5-free (formulated without the use of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene and camphor), vegan, and cruelty-free. This nail polish is one of the three shades revealed in Boxycharm's March spoilers. If you subscribe to Boxycharm, you will receive one of the three colors at random: Deco (coral), Mynt (green), or Lemondrop (yellow). The pastel colors are perfect for spring.

Product: tarte LipSurgence™ Lip Tint in Charmed

The tarte LipSurgence™ lip tint is a moisturizing lip stain infused with peppermint. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. I like that more and more brands like tarte are using less chemicals in their products. This is a great lip crayon that gives you a glossy pop of color with a sweet minty flavor. In addition, there’s also a 20% off coupon for purchase on tarte.com, which is valid from April 1 through April 15, 2015.

Product: Previse Nutrify Skin Type 1-6 Universal Tonic

The Nutrify tonic from Previse is a brand new product for me, so I had to do some research on exactly what it is used for. So far, I think this is a tonic to help keep pores clean, hydrate the skin, and heal as well as protect it against environmental damages such as waterborne pollutants or additives. It also acts as a barrier between your skin and any makeup products that can contain skin irritants.

You apply the tonic twice a day, morning and night, immediately after cleaning your face. Previse recommends using their Purify cleanser. However, if you are using your own brand, you should avoid anything containing oatmeal and plastic micro-bead exfoliators, which can micro-tear the skin. According to their site, this tonic works on people with extremely sensitive skin. It's also good to note that this product is free of parabens, silicones and skin clogging petroleum ingredients.

I saw a couple of reviews from people who used this product with great results and improvement in overall skin appearance. I will definitely give this product a try since I love using serums (although Previse says this is not a serum or toner).

Final Thoughts: The total retail value of all the products is $112, which is five times more than the amount I paid. This box contains a great mixture of items. However, of all the products in this month's box, I'm most excited about the Previse Nutrify tonic after learning about the features and reading the positive reviews. The March Boxycharm box is another win for me. If you are looking for a beauty box with consistent high value and good brands, I would recommend Boxycharm.
