1Up Box Subscription Box Review & Coupon - June 2015

The June 2015 1Up Box theme is Arcade! Arcades were popular while I was growing up, but kids these days have computers or game consoles that can be played at the convenience of their own home. This also includes myself. However, I was very excited when I originally found out about the theme since I really enjoyed some of the old arcade games.

Boxometry 1Up Box June 2015 Review - Detail Card and Pin

The box comes with an insert listing all of the products. It also shows variations of each item, if any. In addition, there's a collectible pin based on the theme.

Boxometry 1Up Box June 2015 Review - Street Fighter Bobble Budds

Product: Street Fighter Bobble Budds
Retail Value: $11.99

I found the Bobble Budds official site, but it looks like they sell their figures through Amazon.com. I received the Chun-Li SD (super deformed) Bobble Budd, and it's super cute! There's also a version of her in pink...too bad I didn't get that one! There are a total of 7 different characters (Chun-Li has two versions), and everyone gets one at random in their 1Up Box. The figure measures about 3.5" tall.

Boxometry 1Up Box June 2015 Review - Pac-Man Candy Tin

Product: Pac-Man Candy Tin
Retail Value: $3.99

I love the retro arcade machine tin box. The candies inside are Pac-Man shaped with strawberry flavor. I don't care much for the candies, so I am going to finish the them (or give them to my husband) and keep the box as a collectible.

Boxometry 1Up Box June 2015 Review - Spider-Man Zipper Pull

Product: Spider-Man Zipper Pull
Retail Value: $2.65

My husband recently picked up a Tokidoki Fairytella backpack from a warehouse sale. The backpack is brand new, but is missing a zipper pull. I literally received my 1Up Box at the same time, and discovered this Spider-Man Zipper Pull. How convenient! I know they don't exactly match, but the Fairytella backpack is mostly red in color so it actually looks pretty good together. Not sure if I'll put Spidey on the backpack yet, but it's an option.

Boxometry 1Up Box June 2015 Review - Metallic Arcade Decal

Product: Metallic Arcade Decal
Retail Value: $1.00 (Estimated)

This is a nice metallic decal featuring Space Invaders. It sort of has a brushed metal look. You can stick it on your phone, laptop, or any surface you want.

Boxometry 1Up Box June 2015 Review - Space Invaders Lanyard

Product: Space Alien Lanyard
Retail Value: $4.00 (Estimated)

I love how companies change the title of products to avoid copyright issues. This lanyard features Space Invaders (i.e. Space Alien). The lanyard says "Insert Coin", "Press Start", and "Game Over", which is pretty much how every arcade game was played back in the days.

Boxometry 1Up Box June 2015 Review - Exclusive Fight Fight Revolution T-Shirt

Product: Exclusive "Fight Fight Revolution" T-Shirt
Retail Value: $14.99 (Estimated)

The exclusive t-shirt this month is a mash-up of Dance Dance Revolution and Street Fighter. I figured there would be a Dance Dance Revolution item when I first learned about the Arcade theme since it was so insanely popular back in the days. The design shows a chibi Ryu on the dancing pad. Super cute!

ProductsRetail Value
Street Fighter Bobble Budds $11.99
Pac-Man Candy Tin $3.99
Spider-Man Zipper Pull $2.65
Metallic Arcade Decal $1.00
Space Alien Lanyard $4.00
Exclusive "Fight Fight Revolution" T-Shirt $14.99
Total $38.62

Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed the Arcade themed 1Up Box, and all of the items made me feel a bit nostalgic. Although some items like the metallic sticker or lanyard feel like fillers, I still like having them. This is probably my favorite box so far purely because it celebrates retro arcade gaming.
