Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - June 2015

As I mentioned in my Loot Crate June 2015 theme reveal post, the word Cyber immediately made me think of Cylons from Battlestar Galactica. There are a ton of other Cyber related franchises, but this was the first title that popped into my head. My husband (then boyfriend) and I used to binge watch TV shows, and Battlestar Galactica was one of them.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Mini Magazine 23 and Pin

The box comes with Loot Crate's mini magazine, issue #23, which contains interview with Mr. Robot's Creator and Executive Producer, Sam Esmail, Comic-Con 2015, and etc, as well as details about each item. As usual, a collectible pin is included.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Nerd HQ 2015 Stickers

Product: Exclusive Nerd HQ Sticker Sheet (The Nerd Machine)
Retail Value: Marketing Material

The San Diego Comic-Con has already come and gone, but I'll keep these Nerd HQ stickers for fun. It was intended to help spread the word about the Nerd HQ 4-day event, so it's pretty much marketing material.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Exclusive Prime T-Shirt

Product: Exclusive Prime T-Shirt (djkopet designs)
Retail Value: $19.99

Since this is an exclusively designed t-shirt by djkopet designs, I had to dig around for the price. I found a similar t-shirt being sold for $19.99, so that's how I came up with the value. This t-shirt is a mashup of two of my favorite sci-fi films: Transformers and Tron. Although the two stories are different, the mashup design actually looks pretty awesome. The cotton is super soft, and my husband loves it.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Exclusive Borderlands Zer0 Game Mat

Product: Exclusive Borderlands Zer0 Game Mat (Loot Crate Labs)
Retail Value: $9.99 (Estimated)

This is described as a gaming mat. According to the booklet, the idea of this mat is to improve the precision and responsiveness of your mouse movements. I don't play much computer games (I'm mainly a PS/XBox gamer), so I'll probably use this as a giant mousepad.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Exclusive Terminator Genisys Endo Skull Replica

Product: Exclusive Terminator Genisys Endo Skull Replica 1/2 Scale (Chronicle Collectibles)
Retail Value: $14.99 (Estimated)

The skull feels lighter than it looks. There's a page in the mini magazine that talks about the manufacturing process. That's where I learned that the skulls were cast in vinyl molds, which explains why it isn't super heavy, but appears to have some weight with the metal paint job.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Exclusive Terminator Genisys Brain Chip Keychain

Product: Exclusive Terminator Genisys Brain Chip Keychain (Chronicle Collectibles)
Retail Value: $5.00 (Estimated)

This keychain features the brain chip of a new and improved T-1000 Terminator cyborg. It's got some weight to it. The issue I have with the weight is that I don't like carrying heavy items on my keychain.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Future Replicant Corporate Logo Patch

Product: Future Replicant Corporate Logo Patch (A-B Emblem)
Retail Value: $4.00 (Estimated)

This logo patch is a nod to Blade Runner. I see people selling this for $4, so that's where the estimate comes from. Not much else to say about it. I've received a couple of patches from other geeks and gamers subscription boxes, and I'm beginning to feel like they are simply fillers.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Battlestar Galactica Cylon Target Posters

Product: Battlestar Galactica Cylon Target Posters x2 (Quantum Mechanix)
Retail Value: $8.00 (Estimated)

I went to the shooting range once several years ago when I was still dating my now husband. Obviously I'm not much of a shooter, so I won't be doing much with these target posters. I was hoping for a Cylon figure, little keychain, or something of that nature.

Boxometry Loot Crate June 2015 Review - Exclusive Glow-in-the-dark Circuit Gadget Pouch

Product: Exclusive Glow-in-the-dark Circuit Gadget Pouch (Loot Crate Labs)
Retail Value: $5.00 (Estimated)

Honestly, this pouch feels very cheaply made. I didn't realize it glowed in the dark until I read the description in the mini magazine. You are supposed to charge it under direct light for a couple of minutes to get it to glow.

ProductsRetail Value

Exclusive Terminator Genisys Brain Chip Keychain (Chronicle Collectibles) $5.00

Battlestar Galactica Cylon Target Posters x2 (Quantum Mechanix) $8.00
Exclusive Glow-in-the-dark Circuit Gadget Pouch (Loot Crate Labs) $5.00
Total $66.97

Final Thoughts: My favorite item from this box is the Prime t-shirt. The Terminator products are nice, but I heard the movie isn't that great. Of course, I don't have an opinion yet since I haven't watched it. The brain chip is a neat idea, but a little heavy to be carried around on the keychain (at least for me). I'm disappointed in the Battlestar Galactica item since I can't do much with it. Overall, I think the June Loot Crate is great for those that are fans of the series, but some of the products isn't completely relevant to everyone that are subscribed. Again, the value is mostly estimated since Loot Crate includes a lot of exclusive products in their boxes.
